To be honest, I just don't think we know.
If Alabama or Auburn are 11-1, they'll be top 4 with a ton of momentum and a lot of hype. While we all fear the SEC getting screwed for perceived fairness, I still think you're underestimating how hard it'll be to choose a conference champ from a far inferior conference over an SEC power with the same record.

Let's say, Miss St goes undefeated. Meets a 1 loss UGA in Atlanta. UGA wins. Conference champ is going for sure. FSU will be undefeated. MSU would have by far the best 1 loss resume.
