That's not what they are telling him.
They are telling him they believe he can seriously come-in and compete for the job at some point in the season and they have absolutely no intention of redshirting him. None.

Honestly, I hope that's what they are telling every recruit.... But unless he picks up the game with an insane quickness (he's not an EE so he won't be getting that extra semester with the playbook, etc.) I don't think he'll pass a pocket passer who has been in the system for two and half years.
