You witnessed the "cowbelling"? That's one thing I don't like about them, I'd hate to get cowbelled in the face during a football game
Eta: I re-read your post. Looks like you're talking about inadvertent cowbellings. I was referring to the incident a few years ago

I think it's pretty cool actually. I wish they didn't allow them in the stadium but that's just a personal opinion.
Always wondered though, does every single person have one? I'm with the other guy who said it would be annoying to lug around all day. But you are probably an outkast without one.
