I think he is okay, but sometimes he underminds his audience too much. I don't think he means to, he's just too thorough sometimes.
Verne is useless for the most part, but he means well, and he is likable in a senile grandpa type way.
I used to be a lot more critical of them, but I've grown to appreciate them for the most part.
