1984 A&M-Texas: started the greatest 15 year run in A&M football history. Was a 5-5 team that went into Austin and beat a top-15 ranked Texas team. Next year went on to win our first conference title in almost 20 years.
1999 A&M-Texas Tech: And then it was over. We came in ranked #5; lost and started a slide that would see us ranked #23 in the final AP poll. We wouldn't finish in the top 25 for the entire decade of the 2000s.
2012 A&M-Alabama: Beat the eventual national champion -- on the road. It at least made A&M feel like we can compete in the SEC at the highest level.

1926 Rose Bowl.
It brought southern football in general and Alabama football in particular to the national stage.
Bama has won at least one conference title in every decade since.

5 pages and no Bama fan has mentioned Bama-USC in Los Angeles in 1971. That was truly a program changing win, on multiple levels.

they thoroughly embarassed a top ranked UGA team amidst what was arguably the biggest gameday atmosphere ever in Athens.
Really? That was a pretty tame game day atmosphere

1989 Iron Bowl didn't change much at all, Auburn was a powerful team all throughout the 80's. Their 89 team was Dye's swan song if anything. The series actually flipped back to Alabama's favor immediately after it in the Stallings years.
Their win early in the 80's was more of a changer.
