Sumlin and Spav have been keeping it under wraps so far at some point you would think they are going to pull back the curtain and reveal that Kenny is a better runner than Johnny

is this the week? I was certain it would wait for Auburn or Bama, but after the scare last week I'm not so sure

Kenny is a fine runner. But he's not running because it's not really his thing. He prefers to pass.

That said, we do have some offensive wrinkles we haven't unveiled and I do expect to see a few more this week. Those don't necessarily involve Kenny in the run game though. But I will say the most interesting play we ran this past weekend was what looked like a QB power sweep. Need to go back and look at that play now that I think of it.

Johnny is a much better runner than Kenny. Not a knock on Kenny because Johnny was a better runner than everybody else too.

I do think he's athletically capable of being a dual threat guy if he NEEDED to be, but like Tmc said, he's much more comfortable as a pocket passer.

Because Manziel was one of the best running QBs in college football history

Hill is plenty athletic and I think he showed last Saturday he can execute designed runs well. He had six carries last week, he's not going to run it as much as Manziel because he isn't that style of QB, and I doubt we will run designed runs like 10-15 times a game. He needs to stay healthy.

I have no doubt Hill is athletic enough to make a play if he has to though. Our offense is different than when Manziel was running it and frankly I prefer this version

IF Kenny runs 3 or 4 times for nice yards or a couple of first down will be more than enough running.

Yeah, we have Allen to backup--but it would be asking an arm and a leg for him to fill in for Kenny right now if we had to and ask him to replicate his performances. Hill is a tough kid (took a couple nasty shots against arky but bounced right back up) and it's good to be the aggressor on offense even if it means exposing your quarterback on designed runs. Kenny is good enough athletically to do these things and maximize potential but there's a difference between that and utilizing your QB like a battering ram the way Fran used Stephen McGee 7-8 years ago.

I prefer what we are doing as well. But it most didn't get the W last week.

Kenny was brought in as a dual threat QB. He ran 1400 and 900 in his jr and sr seasons.

There ARE designed run plays for him that they are saving. My question is will we see them this week?

Maybe. He has used a few. He's fairly effective on them and the few broken plays. He's got 183 yards, a long of 38, and almost 9ypc.

We need more designed runs from Kenny early. We need to keep their linebackers honest. Their d-line is too good.
