Your defense is surrendering an average of 31 PPG vs. teams with a pulse.

How is this a counterpoint for what he said?

Our QB had a shaky game, but we are about to get back our best receivers. They will get to tune up against Vandy (who is not a threat this year)

I expect to see better QB play, our guy is at least decent, add in explosive wideouts and the best RB in the country, and I think we will be fine.

Because what he said was basically something he's hoping for. Nothing he provided to back it up.

The counterpoint was that they are currently (factually) absolute shite.

One could try to make a case their defense is actually regressing.

South Carolina's offensive line >>>>> greater than Tennessee's (with five first time starters), yet UT was able to repeatedly attack and expose your LBs pass coverage liabilities.

Granted, this was first game I actually analyzed Georgia's defense in how Missouri might attack them in our upcoming game, but I came away underwhelmed.

Still, the way your schedule plays out you have to be considered the favorites to win the East. But I think 5 out the 7 West teams would manhandle the entire East, including Georgia.
