Because that is the system. Gus reads the d version the sideline then calls the play where the first read should be open. It's been that way since 2009, Chris Todd did the same thing.
That might change next year with IN having 3 years in the system. That is until Sean White beats him out.

Yeah, that's why I said not sure how much of that is on the coaches. It's pretty obvious sometimes that we may as well not even run the other routes because it's decided pre-snap where the ball is going.
I don't mind it just making an observation..
