Meh, thats what Roper did at Duke lat year. I am now legitimately concerned about Driskel. I rewatched the game. The oline gave him plenty of protection time yesterday and he never threw it to guys that were wide open in the middle of the field.

I think we've already determined that the offense has been simplified to some degree. The throw is dictated before the snap, his first read is the one he's to go to.

Whether or not that's because he's incapable of making reads (which we've seen him do in the past) is up for discussion, but I think a lot of this is a coaching decision.

He didn't hold onto the ball at all the first few games, and in this one he did it quite a bit -- to have his running back fumble it without contact on a clean handoff.

I think the coaches have to put more confidence in him, but I think he has to know the offense for more than 3 games.

After six games, if he's still struggling in the offense -- by all means. Pitchforks and torches get 'im.

But the dude's had three coordinators, three different offenses and a pretty goddamn hard schedule when he has played. Bama at home has lost 3 times in something like 6 or 7 years.

We can't expect him to go in there guns blazing in a new offense with receivers who couldn't catch Ebola in Africa in an orgy.
