Re-watch the play. Thompson got an obvious push before his forward momentum was stopped. We had a bad spot from the get go.
Not to mention there is no telling f UGA scores or not if it wasn't a first. Hell in the previous drive they didn't score from the 4.

Absolutely true.
If the spot had been correct it wouldn't have been close in the first place.
Thompson clearly got past the yard line ... was pulled back by a UGA LB and not given forward progress.
Still a 1st down ... but it shouldn't have been that close in the first place.
