I just don't think we have the culture in our "front offices" conducive to winning Natty's in major sports.

I don't know about football but it sure seems like y'all don't value basketball or baseball. but tennis and equestrian, y'all are bad arse.

We had Tubby Smith who was a fantastic coach, but we didn't pay to keep him. Chalk that up to the front office. We later got Jim Harrick, who was one of the best basketball coaches in america. Then he cheated and set our program back decades. We also spent $30M on a state of the art facility that at the time was one of the tops in the country.

We WANT to be good at basketball, and we have made strides, we just haven't gotten that grand slam hire. I'm FAR more critical towards basketball, and I think everyone can see Fox isn't a final 4 type coach. But we'll keep him because he doesn't suck.

We were the 2nd best SEC program (behind LSU) from 2000-2010. We just held onto perno way too long. Our stadium is small yes, but its location doesn't really support massive upgrades. You'd essentially have to tear it down and move it, or re-orient the entire thing.

It's funny you mention this. Stegeman was built because the agriculture community, equestrian, block & bridle clubs, etc. raised the money to build it for horse shows, equipment demonstrations and rodeos. If not for them it wouldn't have been built. They've since been kicked out.
