Because dogs are dumb animals and don't understand?

How were you disciplined? I personally don't like the belt. That's what I got, and it didn't hurt me, but I never used it on my kids. I got them with a bolo paddle. A lot of noise and very little pain, actually. A little sting, maybe.

However, when I saw it was not effective with my son I found something that was. Extra chores, grounded, stuff like that. But if a kid tries to stick his fingers in a light socket I see nothing wrong with giving them a swat on the behind or hand.

I am not saying my way is the right or wrong way. I know it worked with my kids and I had VERY little trouble from either of them.

How were you disciplined....and if you have children, how did/do you discipline them? What did you fid most effective?
