Did the German people know what their fascist government was doing to Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals and other "undesirables?" There can be no other answer than yes if we consider the scale of the atrocities.Millions of families disappearing from neighborhoods alone supports that conclusion.
Did Americans know that the government dropped two gigantic fricking bombs on areas with tons of civilians in the way? There can be no other answer than yes.
Well, did our citizens and soldiers know anything about Vietnam? The only answer can be yes.
Why do you think no one else did anything? How many people "rose up and fought the injustice" of America? Do you blame those soldiers for this? I don't. I never do. I understand that a soldier doesn't always see the bigger picture, and that countries (like Russia, China and Japan) did the exact same fricking thing.
IF we had lost the wars, our soldiers would be on trial for genocide, too.
Soldiers do what they can to survive, morality is a nice thing to muse about afterward but during? There isn't any other objective.

America was in a declared total war with Japan. Germany was systematically exterminating its own citizens, by the millions.

America was in an undeclared war with North Vietnam. Germany was, well, you know.
Again, scale and deliberate extermination of millions distinguish the Holocaust from either WWII or the Vietnam War.
