But yeah, I agree, picking a nickname from a selection provided by your teamates is not at all the same thing as nicknaming yourself and then informing everyone of your decision.


Absolutely. He should have refused to answer the question, but it's a lot to ask a kid that young to have that level of experience answering questions like that.

I get that this would have been the most humble way to go, but given how much announcers/commentators just DRIVE these nicknames into the ground "Johnny Football", "Honey Badger", "RG3"... I completely understand not wanting to get tagged w/ a name you hate. And if you have the opportunity to pick one you like the best... bully for you.
