Sometimes I forget how amazing it was for Gus to turnaround that 2012 offense. He's the next Spurrier - he's going to own some defenses. Can Ellis Johnson develop the type of D needed to win the SEC? Who will be the team that challenges Gus? Spurrier dealt Tenn in the East and Bama in the West. I suspect AU will deal with Bama in the West and Georgia in the East. Both on the road this year! If Gus slays Amen Corner this year - you snitches better kneel down. Word!

Auburn will never have one of the top defenses under Malzahn. The type of offense he runs is simply not conducive to having a great defense considering the defense will be on the field 2/3 of the game. Great defensive coordinators don't want to be coaching a team like that.

However, he will of course have great offenses as long as he is there.

I do think Auburn's defense is going to be their undoing in at least a game or two this season, but it won't be against K-State.
