What was AJs longest pass to beat LSU on the last drive in 12?

Let the damn coaches run the team and pull for a victory. Not everybody's boyfriend will become a starting QB.

None of this is relevant. AJ was capable of throwing the deep ball. Because of this fact, defenses had to respect that ability. A defense would play a QB with a more limited arm in a different manner. Short passes to win the game won't work against LSU if there isn't a deep threat.

You're a fool if you watched Sims on Saturday and think we will win any championships with him. Me, personally, I pull for our team to win championships. I don't care about besting West Virginia. If our defense doesn't show some improvement across the board then our QB will definitely have to bail us out of at least one game.

It's amazing the only actual counter to that point has been someone who doesn't want to believe that will happen...

To what extent? Sims was at his best on Saturday in the no-huddle especially during the drive at the end of the first half. To be fair WVU's defense doesn't look to be exceptional but if he can replicate that type of play under pressure I see no reason to think he's incapable. You don't have to have an absolute cannon like Coker to hit the intermediate to deep ball every once in a while.

Defenses are going to have to respect Sims' ability to run, which will open up the passing game even more. Did you not see what Nick Marshall did to Alabama last year?

Wow, you already know what his ceiling is after watching a whopping one start! How are you not a scout somewhere?

And as others have pointed out, Sims actually played some of his better football while running the two minute offense, so why are you crowing about his ability to lead a game winner while trailing? Oh right, because the two deep passes he tried were ineffective. For shite's sake, AJ missed his share of deep balls too, and scored one of his most memorable wins with a screen pass.

I agree that if the D doesn't improve greatly then we won't be winning the NC with BS...however we also wouldn't win it if we still had AJ (see last year) or GMAC (see 2010). Both seasons we had NC winning QBs at the helm but couldn't get it done. Why?

1. Winning a NC is a very, very hard thing to do
2. The defenses in those 2 years while good weren't dominant

If GMAC or AJ couldn't win a NC without a dominant D, is it fair to expect Sims (or Coker) to?
