So I'm taking my wife to her first Aggie game this weekend, and, sad to say it has been about 10 years since I have made to a game at Kyle Field. We are planning on driving up from Houston that morning and checking out the campus for a few hours before the game and then driving back that night.
Was looking for any advice on good places to park to avoid as much traffic as we could getting back to Houston. I'm sure 6 will be pretty packed no matter what but anything would be helpful.

A great place to park for easy access out is Uniterian (??) Church off Wellborn Road just before George Bush Drive. Coming in on Wellborn Rd it is just couple of hundred yards before GB Drive on the right. Gravel lot and they tend it through the first quarter or until it is full. Costs around $20 to $25 to park there. Been parking here for 15 years.
Getting out is easy. Just get on Wellborn Rd and head West. Traffic on Wellborn will let you out with no problems. Just stay on Wellborn heading West and you will come back out onto hwy 6 about a mile or two West of the Navasota River.
I would recommend coming in on Wellborn Rd to the game but the drive in from that direction doesn't show much to a first time visitor. Go in on 6 and go park/leave on Wellborn.
Gigem.

There is also a new "Destination Aggieland" App you can get that apparently will have traffic info and lots of other good stuff in real time.

Best option IMO is get there early and pay $10 to park in Northside garage on University. It's closer than many of the west campus parking areas and MUCH easier to get out of. It fills up at least 3-4 hours before kickoff though. We got there for Bama last year at 10 AM and by 10:30 it was full.
