I don't think anyone is jumping off the ledge, other than a drunk post here or there. I do think it's ok to critique their play. Hell, I'm sure GP and staff are critiquing it and aren't too happy with their play. That doesn't mean we jump straight to Printz or Berkstresser. All it means is that Mauk threw for 170 something yards in a game that he should have been padding his stats. That the OL wasn't giving the kind of protection that it should have been against a vastly inferior team.

The thing that frustrated me the most is that there are only so many games that we will be able to get the back ups significant reps in. And I'm not saying reps in order to replace anyone but reps in case someone goes down. That was one opportunity wasted, and probably the most likely opportunity to do so.

Having said that, bring on Toledo. Hate having to wait a week to see what changes/improvements come with next week.

no doubt, just like I'm critiquing GP and wondering why he wastes so much of his limited mental capacity on knowing just when is the exact moment in time to take the foot off the gas, yet this is still one of his big concerns during the game...

quote:

"I think sometimes when score easy early, you're a little bit concerned," Gary Pinkel said, "because there might be a sense of, 'Gosh, we're going to run away with this game.'

first of all Gary, you've never coached a true shut down defense in your life, when you do you might get concerned with scoring too early and too often, until then, maybe worry about some less imaginary concerns. After watching your team get burned over and over from the same base set you might want to be more concerned with either getting players adjusted or having them make plays, if you're lucky Vandy won't have a better offense than SDSU, but every other SEC team will.

I know you know what it feels like, but GOSH Gary, let yourself be just a little less concerned during the game about embarrassing the other teams coach and more concerned about being on the receiving end. It's not like a Stoops, Saban or even Richt will lose a moment of sleep beating you by 50+ points.

Never seen a coach obsess so needlessly over a thing less likely to happen than he does over blowing out another team "too soon".

Sad post from a poor excuse for a Tiger fan. Original poster.
