3-6 sounds fair.
If I had to give him a letter grade as a "gametime" coach it'd be a B+.
Of course, he gets an A+ in every other metric imaginable.
Spurrier is your best gametime coach in the SEC.

I think the thing with Saban is that he 1) recruits so well and perhaps more importantly 2) has his teams so superbly prepared to play BEFOREHAND that he often doesn't have to do a whole lot of intricate game-day coaching.
