I refuse to believe someone 6'10+ who plays basketball can't dunk. His very would have to be less than 15 inches.

Closer to 6'8 is what I've heard and not very athletic.

Can't link it on my phone but according to Skip Jansen we offered another big out of Canada. Kalif Young

Article on 2017 SG recruit Jamal Johnson from Spain Park: LINK

On teammate and Auburn commit Austin Wiley:

quote:

“He does so much for the team with his ability to block shots, rebound and along with everything else he does,” he said. “It’s so much easier playing with him because he does all of the little things. He draws a lot of attention and frees his teammates. Austin is just a great player to play with.”

On playing with Wiley in college:

quote:

Johnson has spoken with Wiley about possibly playing together on the college level.

“Austin and I have been friends for five to six years now, so we are very close,” said Johnson. “He loves Auburn and always messes with me about coming to Auburn. We have been talking about it lately and I think about it every once in a while, but I haven’t put too much thought into it yet.”

On his visit to Auburn:

quote:

The class of 2017 prospect enjoyed the Auburn game and what he saw in their program.

“It was a good experience, they got a great win against Tennessee,” Johnson said. “It was really fun watching Coach Pearl in action and seeing the way the team plays. I got a feel for how I will fit into their offense.”

He's a Bama legacy but he doesn't mention them except for listing them as one of 10 schools currently recruiting him. Hopefully that's good for us.

Only other schools he talks about are Ole Miss and Harvard. Basically just says his visit to Ole Miss was fun and it was a good game. Doesn't sound enthusiastic. Says he values academics and has a 3.9 GPA so is considering Harvard a real option.

Ends by saying he won't really start to focus on recruiting and narrow things down until the end of the summer and beginning of his senior year.
