Reward the guy who has gotten in more fistfights than produced quality games?

If he does, we aren't going to be good. Granger isn't good. If he plays, we have some serious busts

What? Granger is a terrible center since he is considerably undersized. Granger is not nearly athletic enough to play as a wing (3/SF) .

So that leaves Granger at PF, which he still isn't good at. We have Spencer, Harris and Purifoy that all should be upgrades over Gran

Granger has big game experience, which half our roster is without. You can't teach experience. That is why he will play early and often. Bruce has entrusted him to be one of our leaders and contribute, or he wouldn't still be on the team. We have talented newcomers but the lack of experience is why they will be gradually worked into the lineup, not because they are busts but young. Also, I played in a similar system as ours and the 4 is our center, who basically runs from paint to paint. 3 is a wing. 5 will play on the arc and in the paint. The 5 also inbounds the ball and is the on ball defender in our full court press.

I could see Granger getting early minutes but by Xavier, I don't think he gets more than 10 minutes per game. Mostly for fresh legs/depth issues in the front court

I see that argument but it seems like Canty/Lang/Harris/Bowers are all in line to either start or get serious minutes. All 4 have played D1 basketball with Harris having some NCAA experience

I guess I should clarify, I don't necessarily disagree with your premise, just that I think his MPG are around 15-20 to start then go do sub 10 MPG.

I see us keeping him around more a result of having no height on our roster rather than Bruce truly believing in Granger
