If the SEC wants to add UVA or UNC it needs to develop Men's Soccer and Lacrosse. UVA and UNC are both HUGE soccer and lacrosse schools. UVA has 13 national titles between both sports while UNC has 6 national titles. Soccer and Lacrosse are a big focus of their respective athletic departments.

UVA and UNC will not let their mens soccer and lacrosse programs go to shite just to join the SEC. Its simply too important to them.

I think the sec could afford to indulge them in those two sports if it meant getting them in. Right now, those two sports have got to be relatively cheap. A field, a goal, a ball, some sticks and face guards and, voila, instant Lacross.

They can always play those sports in the conference/league they're already in. Several SEC schools play sports in other conferences...

SCe plays men's soccer in CUSA, Mizzou wrestles in the MAC etc...
