No, a buy in would not be a persuasion, only the annual payouts. By the way, the SEC would never offer one school a larger allotment to get someone who is not currently in the conference.

If a majority of the other schools voted to allow it for one season, they probably would. But your right, they would have to ask the rest of the sec. But I think a majority would vote in favor of it. The sec would be completed with two flagship teams. NC St is just so blah, and VT is just a Johnny come lately.
