i've heard Big George Rogers tell the story a few times about how when he arrived w/ the Saints as the #1 overall pick, he was ill-prepared to handle his situation. his dad was in jail for murder for most of his life, so he didn't have someone to look up to. but when he got to New Orleans, a veteran player took him aside to counselled him on what he needed to do to keep his life in order. he still got into a little trouble here and there, but he said he would have never made if it wasn't for that veteran player's guidance.... and that veteran Saint player was none other than Archie Manning... now you know the rest of the story.

I've heard him tell that same story several times.

He won the NFL rushing title as a rookie, was a Pro Bowler and Rookie of the Year.

No telling how good both Archie and Boo could have been had they been drafted by a good team.
