The year he won it in 92 he was not great, however by the end of his career he was perfectly fine. Hard to argue a guy who was in the NFL a few years (albeit as a 3rd stringer) is the worst of all time.

I mean Andrew Zow was the worst Alabama QB to win one in terms of full career.

At the end of his career, he was the all-time leader in attempts, completions, passing yards, and passing TDs. I can't imagine what about him was different from all the other SEC-winning QBs at Bama that made you think he was the worst.

For example, this guy won an SEC title and an MNC, and barely made a dent statistically:
