That's not the total picture. I believe if you pay football players, you will have to pay all players of all sports.

There are universities with in the SEC that will not be able to do that. Therefore a lot of sports will go. When that goes, it means scholarships for all of those players go because the sport is no more.

Then there is the problem of individuals being more important than others to the over all program. "I was the top recruit.... I should get more"

I wonder if the NCAA decided to remove all likeness and not use any of them for anything. No shirt sales. No sales of any likeness. No players on billboards... ALL THINGS go. No players put up on jumbo trons... nothing.

Would that stop this?

The point many are missing here is not that millions will be coming from the NCAA. Each school will now have to budget for this expense, and when a school/business has to increase its budget, prices will go up. And it will be the fans paying these higher prices. And does a 5 star get more money than a 3 star? Want to guess how long it will take for schools to get caught up in a now legal bidding war for players? LSU can tell a player it will pay him X for his name & bama will come back with XY in payment. This is opening up Pandora's box, big time.
