This is what happens when radicals weasel their way into position of power. There is nothing offensive about any of this. But these guys will do anything in their power to convince others that it is. If you disagree with them they will paint you as a far right racist.

Exactly.
Instead of "I think you're wrong and we disagree, let's figure out a solution" things have become "I think you're wrong and we disagree, you're out of touch with society and harbor evil thoughts. Just wait until the media hears of this."
