its a few shy of last year. i think we will.

Might be a little high on Roc but i think he'll get those yards in some of our OOC games.

Not all of them but most. Still doesn't count as a rushing yards though which is what this thread is alluding too.

Fair enough. I didn't read OP...still haven't...figured it was just ranking RB's. Catching out of the backfield is so incredibly underrated in RB's, IMO. It's what makes guys like Jamaal Charles, LeSean McCoy, Arian Foster, Ray Rice, Darren Sproles, etc so elite.

Didn't mean it like that. I read the rankings. The way he responded, it sounded like there was more to the OriginalPost and I didn't remember there being anymore than the 3 tiers. Just went back and looked, there wasn't. The list doesn't state if it's just rushing yards or yards from scrimmage.

Tier 1 - Fournette

Tier 2 - Bo/Herschel

Tier 3 - Cecil Collins and other backs that ended up in prison way too soon

Tier 4 - The rest

Oh wait...did you mean just for this year. I'm sorry, I read it too fast and thought you meant all-time...

In that case:

Tier 1 - Fournette

Tiers 2 - 4: the rest

At least 1 AU rb will have 1,000. I would guess CAP, with Grant in the 800 range.

May not be CAP but I don't think there's any way an AU RB doesn't rush for 1000, unless they evenly split carries 5 ways.
Even Mason did it in that shite Loeffler offense.

You guys are really overrating CAP, he is just not good enough to do it. If any AU RB gets there, it'll be Roc, but I don't think he becomes the starter early enough in the season to pull it off. AU will end up with a slew of guys in the 700-900 yard range.

I agree.

I hope we get 5 800 yarders.

I could see both LF and Hurd going for over 1000yds this fall. Both will be needed to help carry the load and both will the opportunity. I see both LSU and UT relying on the run game.

For us, a lot depends on our oline. Will they be decent run blockers and what about pass blocking? While the interior should be fine there are weaknesses, question marks, and of course inexperience. Some of that can be schemed around and if our oline can be serviceable on run blocking Hurd has the speed and size to do damage. Combining him with Lane and Scott could give opponents hell.

I know we're playing around with a lot of different looks on defense and offense. We're probably look a lot different than we did last year on both sides of the ball, especially since this year we have athletes much more suited to the offense and defense the coaches want to run. It's going to interesting to see what we look like this year.

We were relied a lot on the run game last year but with the backs we have now have a helluva lot of potential to do damage despite our questions at oline.
