Steve won at duke

He was 20-13-1 at Duke, with his Co-ACC Championship year concluding with an 8-4 record.

Duke's all-time record is 474-495-32.

Compare that with Kentucky (583-591-44) and Bear Bryant's record there (60-23-6) and you will see Bryant did far better at a program with similar prestige. Bryant had Kentucky in the national championship hunt in 1950. Something Spurrier never accomplished at Duke.

Steve Spurrier is a great coach, one of the best of all time in the SEC, no doubt. But if you seriously think their is even a conversation about him being better than Bryant, then you are either trolling or not to smart. By the way, I am not being a homer here, Saban is not worthy of that discussion either. Now if either of them won about 8 or 9 more SEC titles, then it might be time to compare.

His stint at USC is a better comparison than Duke.

Spurrier better.
