Saves our class. Missed on DE, though: Sawyer at JUCO, Wideman headed to prep, and Jhaustin Thomas will never play for us.

Wideman and Sawyer will be here next year so it's all good. DE's don't normally impact the game as True Frosh unless your a freak like Clowney. Its just like a RS year and its a bonus sometimes BC they get an additional RS year once they arrive on Csmpus. The postive, it'll help dat recruiting ranking for next year dho.

True, but even Clowney didn't start his FR year. He played behind Ingram who was another Carolina 1st Team All American/1st Rd DE Draft Pick.

Yep I saw a lot of trash talking Clemson fans a couple of weeks ago. Congrats Gamecocks these guys will be veterans by the time Y'all play the tigers. Hope they show out that game.

This is idiocy. They may not have had a huge game impact but they have a huge impact on the roster, and it's beneficial to bond w/ the team, have a year in the S&C program, and learn the playbook so that they can have an impact next year. It is never a positive (or a very minor negative) when you can't get six players enrolled. That's like voluntary probation.
BTW, after losing 6 players we signed approximately the 29th best class in the nation last year.

Totally agree

It'll be interesting, too, to see if--especially after Wideman commits--teams try to peel off Whitlow or Key by saying "USC has 6 DE commits for this class, come here where it's less crowded." We wouldn't have such a problem if Sawyer and Wideman were enrolled already (and if Wideman were making progress twds a transition to DT).
