I'm not sold on Bateman being ready for the speed of the SEC. He looks a little stiff going through his progressions sometimes. I think he needs more time to "get out of his head" and just play. I like what I see so far but I think he still has to make some strides and get some confidence. It would be great if we could get him some game experience early in the year.

Yeah, I'm hoping Bateman gets all the garbage time QB snaps. Sims won't be here next year, no reason to give them to him if he doesn't start.

I'm not so sure about that either, not at this moment.
But, the only way to correct that is getting reps, and he's getting them now.
He will continue to get them against what could be, one of BAMA's fastest defenses in a while. I would love to see him practice with the 1st team so we could really judge his pocket presence.
I hope Coker has more touch than i've seen & doesn't turn out to be more of a kitchens type. 5 yard rockets that the receivers cant handle/overthrows/etc..
I love the fact that Coker has a big arm, but does he have the touch?
Just from what i've seen, Bateman appears to have great touch, and is probably underestimated on his arm strength. If I remember correctly, he throws a 65+ yd (in the air) TD bomb on the 1st play of his highlight film. I would think that is adequate enough.
