It is fair to say this was true of several Auburn fans, but reports serviced after CGC was fired that he had purposely scaled back Gus' offense toward the middle of 2011. The stats revealed that fact. Many of us respected CGM for being a team guy and respecting his boss despite what was obviously a bad decision for the health of the team. CGC only made that decision because he was tired of hearing about why he couldn't maintain a top defense. He forgot winning games was the #1 priority of a head coach. How you do it doesn't matter…

Furthermore when CGM left he did so with class and his last chance to show his offense off in the bowl game without restrictions he showed the struggles during the season were more about CGC than CGM. Even leaving he never said a single public negative word about CGC.
