His last season in Springdale, he mercy ruled every team he played but one.

Even mercy ruled Jenks, Oklahoma and Evangel Christian, Shreveport.

He missed the mercy rule in the State Championship by 1 point.

Springdale was #1 in one poll and #2 in the other poll to South Lake Carroll. SLC's Coach contacted Malzahn about getting a "National Championship" game together, Malzahn said no thanks. Many around here think it's good that he did.

He had his fill of playing Texas HS teams when he got spanked by Euless Trinity 80-26.


ETA: Never mind, I think Gus had already cut and run from Shiloh by by then.
