He's a great coach. Period. No other way around. And he proved it definitively by beating Saban.

Last year was his first year as a head coach of a power conference team that just happened to be familiar with his offensive style, so much so that several players that had already been recruited for his type of team were already on campus when he'd been there. He was the backbone of Auburn during Chizik's tenure; when he left they were spineless. Once he returned, they stood strong again. Surprise? No, let's see sustained success at Auburn before we call him a great coach. For starters, let's see if he can do something about Auburn being LSU's bitch, and he still has a lot of work to do before he's even mentioned in the same breath as Alabama or LSU. Auburn was far from dominant last season; they were just a winner and can't count on winning games the way they won them in 2010 or 2013 for long. Auburn's must learn to be dominant and keep the opponent out of the game. Some of those close games that became wins are going to become losses eventually.
