"Absolutely nothing wrong with leaving early"? Check out the numbers of players who left early who were never drafted in the past 3 drafts.. That number continues to grow & none of them returned to school to get their degree from everything I've heard or read. So they return to small town USA to get a job flipping burgers. These guys..and family/agents...need this kind of slap in the face as cold reality is one mean bitch.

I agree. Players always have "experts" around them telling them how great they are so they believe it. Then on draft day, when the phone doesn't ring, reality sets in a little too late.

The best answer to the problem is to have the players declare the maximum round they could be drafted. If not drafted by that point, they come off the board and can return to their college team. Jrs would not be allowed at the Combine unless they declare for the entire draft.

Yeah but many of them are also temporarily satisfied with practice squad checks as well
