Texas went from Saban "lock" to Gruden "lock"..then trickled down to Shaw, Briles etc.

There's a reason why Texas has only 1 national title in the last 45 years. In order to be the head coach of the Longhorns, you need to be able to juggle football and the politics that comes with the job. You are not the most powerful man in Texas like you are in Alabama when you're the head coach. You still have to answer to the boosters and good ole boys. Until they get rid of that antiquated system, Texas will never be as successful as their fan base wants them to be.
