I'm scared to think what a motivated team would've been like in the 2011 Capitol One bowl.

It really is.

Reflection on saban maybe?

Perhaps. But I'm not complaining. He's won more national championships in the last five years than in the entire history of the Auburn program.

So long as we keep winning 11-12 games a season and are always in competition for the national championship at the end of November, I'll be happy. Because we have a playoff now. Mulligans will be much easier to come by.

They do look impressive against much weaker teams. Give em some credit for that.

A game that few of them actually cared about. I can't remember which Alabama player it was, but he played on the '08 team that lost to Utah in the Sugar Bowl and was talking about our loss to OU in this year's Sugar Bowl. His exact words were, and I quote, "No one cares about the Sugar Bowl."

It's either national championship or bust now. That's where the Alabama program is at right now.

Jesus

fricking

Christ

I remember Saban BLASTING a reporter for overlooking some scrub team a couple years ago.

This line of reasoning is why people laugh at y'all.

Not to mention AJ's quotes about using the OU game to show people they were the best team in the country.

No, we weren't the best team in the country. We had the talent to beat anyone, but that's not how it worked out. Florida State, Michigan State, and perhaps Stanford could have beaten us. Auburn was equal to us at best.

If I were to go to the Sugar Bowl, I'm treating it like a vacation.

dude you're going full tard in this thread.

Were you in the locker room pre game? At practice the month before the Sugar Bowl?

You are 100% talking out of your arse and making excuses that Saban himself would be ashamed of.

Can't disagree with that.

Bama fans better get ready to have a 1 or 2 loss team get passed over though the way bama schedules.

Reflection on saban maybe? Or the players just have lil balls and only beat inferior teams?

Prob both I guess

Perhaps you can come back and give Saban some advice on mental toughness when Gus wins three out of four championships or when pigs start flying. They'll both happen at the same time.

As evidenced by the performance against Oklahoma.

At least we've made it to a BCS Bowl. South Carolina never will because the BCS is over and y'all always dropped a game you shouldn't, thereby conceding the East to a team you defeated.

I was never confident about our O'line from day 1. So I always felt we were beatable.

I felt we could win them all with the right breaks. Much like I feel about this years team.

Every team has a weakness.

The hell you are. I bet you would be too overwhelmingly excited to play in a game vs Georgia southern. Shut up with that nonsense.

oh nooooo this is not how Bama fans or players EVER think. BCS bowls are for the Arkansas' of college football! Alabama is championship or death!

I wouldn't be excited about playing GS, but I would take it more seriously because it's during the season and we still have something to play for.

This line of thinking from bama fans always amazes me. If 2 parties agree to a contest, let's say throwing cards into a bucket, and at the end of the day I throw in 34 and you throw in 28, I am by definition better than you on every planet in every galaxy in the entire fricking universe. It's basic math and you clowns have yet to figure it out

Florida State was the best team in the country. Auburn was the best team in the SEC.

AU was the only team in the country that was beating FSU in Jan last year.

Take off the Orange and Blue glasses. Michigan State could have hung with them, but I doubt they beat Auburn. Michigan State's vaunted run defense yielded 273 yards to Ohio State at 6.8 yards per carry. Big 10 Defenses always must be taken with a grain of salt; that conference is SEC Lite at best. Back to my point, I don't think Michigan State would contain Auburn's rushing attack for 4 quarters.

They had a point to prove after a disappointing 2010 season. After Kick 6, there was no shot at the SEC or national championship trophies. Alabama shoots for #1. Anything else is meaningless.
