Branson is vey nice, it's very pretty and there's plenty to do around there. Music, attractions, golf, etc. there are lots I Mizzou and Arky fans from around there who could make recommendations about Branson. Will you have kids along?

Yes, 3 boys (7,10,11). Just thought of Branson because they are all pretty adventurous and wide open and we will be staying in the KS and MO area for about 6 days. Most people have said to stay away from Manhattan, though, just like you. So sounds like good advice.
