No, for Richt it is 2007 Tennessee. No excuse for that whatsoever. Complete disastrous meltdown against a team that had no business even making that a game.

2012 USC is a bad loss, but I actually put that one more on the defense due to the way the entire unit literally quit on the first play of the game and the fact that USC was actually a good team with talented players, whereas UT...wasn't.

Huh? UT was a solid team in 07.

As the previous Mizzou poster said, the handling of Brad Smith was downright criminal. Trying to force him into a pocket quarterback was an awful idea.

In terms of recent disasters, I think Pinkel not keeping Mauk in during the Cotton Bowl right after that touchdown drive was bad. You go with the hot hand and Franklin played a miserable game.

20-59, 17-41, and the Kentucky game paint a different picture.

You're kidding...right?

No it's not. YOu can at LEAST say tennessee won the east that year. Not excusing the game, because it was atrocious. But "biggest coaching disaster" in 13 years? Nah.

You two cannot seriously be talking about the same team that I am. I'm referring to the UT team that needed VANDY to miss a field goal with :33 on the clock to win by just 1 point! Then let KENTUCKY take them to 4 overtimes so they could stop a 2-point conversion to eek out a 52-50 win.

THAT Tennessee team was solid?

They backed into the East title thanks to Richt's biggest coaching disaster ever, and it cost us not only the East, but probably the SEC and BCSNC as well.
