With a few exceptions, it typically takes a coach longer than two years to achieve those goals. You forget: Our first year in the SEC was Sumlin's first year at A&M.

Johnny Manziel is a good football player. I'm not sure why you're characterizing him as "lucky." Sure, he was the likely beneficiary of luck at times, but no more so (or less) than any other QB.

Few would argue that.
We have a defense--it's just not our strength right now. Thankfully, Sumlin and staff are working to recruit top defenders.
Football isn't like basketball, where one or two players can transform the entire team.
It takes time to build a squad, ya know?
All teams--at some point--field young players. You gotta start somewhere.
