Is he allowed to practice with the team but just can't participate in games?
I wasn't sure if the sitting out one year meant not being able to participate in any team activities, or just limited activities.

correct, I believe he cant travel with the team either. basically practice squad, he will be like one of the players that are on the team from the 85-115(or however many total any particular team has)
