Dude, why do you do this?

Do I, though?

I recommended a documentary. That's all.

He responded with a post saying he's seen it, then made a generic comment that was incorrect about the film.

I asked him to say something specific about it, which he attempted to do before he deleted it.

Is the weirdness really on me? (Obviously my persistence is not normal)

If you breakdown what actually happened all I did was recommend a movie, he's the one that tried lying about seeing it. If the script was flipped I'd be called out for doing what he just did. But so it goes.

Dunno man, I'm a pretty smart guy, and it's been a downfall of mine. I'm constantly letting people know I'm smarter than them whether I know it or not. It's just in the way I talk to people.

It has cost me a lot of friendships, and people I meet on normal life tended not to like me until I curtailed it.

I see some of what I used to do in you.

People know you're smart. Why do you always have to make sure they know you're smarter or more knowledgable than they are? Doesn't just knowing that you know and continuing your life without their approval seem a lot less confrontational and acceptable? You're never going to get their approval by confronting them, someone being told they're dumber than you is never going to achieve much. Even if they know you're right, they'll never admit it, and they'll generally even revolt against it out of pride.

You're really knowledgable, I just don't get why you haven't included the social part of being smart to work.

No offense, I just see a lot of what I used to do in you.

People follow knowledgeable and smart people, they don't follow smart cocksuckers.

I watched about an hour of it while waiting in a doctor's office a few months back. You don't like my general opinion of it and decided to claim I simply haven't seen any of it, just as I said you would earlier today. I could tell from your second post in this thread it was coming (you're really predictable, for the record), but acted against my better judgement and actually typed out a legitimate response. My deletion was a change of mind to avoid what is precisely now occurring.

My dismissal of the documentaries message doesn't sit with you, and this incredible ego defense of yours kicked in. Like it always does, like it always will. Just as I said it does, and would.
