he seems to always start the season with 2 early losses

Eeh, not really. Let's look! Here's what he's done in the first 4 games of the season during his career, record followed by (wins/losses)

01: 3-1 (ark st, ark, @ut/ sc)
02: 4-0 (clemson, @SC, 2 scrubs)
03: 3-1 (clemson, mtsu, sc/ @lsu)
04: 4-0 (gsu, @sc, marshall, lsu)
05: 4-0 (boise, sc, ulm, @msu)
06: 4-0 (wku, @sc, uab, cu)
07: 3-1 (ok st, wcu, @bama / sc)
08: 4-0 (gsu, cmu, @sc, @asu)
09: 3-1 (sc, @ark, asu / @ok st)
10: 1-3 (ull / @sc, ark, @msu)
11: 2-2 (ccu, @om / boise, sc)
12: 4-0 (buff, @mizz, fau, vandy)
13: 3-1 (sc, nt, lsu / @clem)

only twice has he lost 2 out of the gates, one was in his worst season ever and the other we won the following 10 games.

make that first half of the season and you can add 2007 and 2009. So he's lost 2 games in the first half of the season 4 times the past 7 seasons. He's also greatly benefitted from Tennessee being a dumpster fire since 2008, yet still managed to lose to them in 2009 and tried his best to last year. Like, I said, I don't have anything against Richt personally. UGA will be competative as long as he's there. I just think he's going to have to do something more eventually. He almost seems as if he's been regressing as a coach after showing a ton of potential early in his career. Since that great team he had in 2007, he's only lost fewer than 3 games in a season once and hasn't won an SEC title since 2005. Is that something UGA fans are ok with given the talent that's come through?
