Yeah, I've heard this one before. The way I remembered it is that some people thought that the exhaust streams coming out of jets overhead were just chemicals being released into the atmosphere.

Um, they are government-approved chemicals being released into the atmosphere. They're affecting the environment. Remember how clear the skies got the week after 9/11? Jet exhausts are a major source of air pollution.
