7-9 wins with an occasional 10 win season.

That's basically what Arkansas football has been for the past 20+ years in the SEC. He should be able to continue that.

You're being incredibly short sighted. The only games we weren't competitive in were Bama and Auburn. To say we won't beat those teams based off of the results of one season is ludicrous.

I'm looking at the road each team is headed down...

Alabama and Auburn are at the top of the SEC for a couple of reasons. One, they have great players and recruit with the best - year in, year out. Two, they have outstanding coaching. Auburn has proven, twice, how great of a coach Gus Malzahn is... The first time was in 2009 when they went from 5-7 to 8-5, and the second time was in 2013 when they went from 3-9 to 12-2. Nick Saban's coaching ability is unquestionable, so I really don't need to dive into detail with him...

As it stands, Bret Bielema is not on par with either coach previously mentioned. And Arkansas never, if ever, recruits at the top of college football. Right now, they are out-manned and out-coached, and that probably won't be changing.

It also doesn't help that Bret Bielema tries to pick media outlet fights with his war of words and constant whining...

right

if we can consistently get that with bert for awhile, he can build us into something more. that 7-9 wins consistently is only the beginning...

Hence my comment that we weren't competitive with Bama and Auburn.

However, I didn't see anything in our games against A&M, Ole Miss, State and LSU that led me to believe that we can't beat them when Bielema has his guys in the system.

Your statement has everyone getting better but Arkansas. I don't believe that will be true at all. I am confident there will be a drastic improvement between '15 Arkansas and '13 Arkansas.

Bert is a good coach, you don't have the success he had at Wisconsin without being able to coach and recruit. His style won't change and he has had success with it. He recruits road graders for the oline and gets very productive backs and good game managers at QB.

He might end up being the most consistent of the Razorback coaches since Broyles. I don't see the huge fluctuations we've seen from Arkansas since they've been in the SEC.

However I don't see them ever being a consistent top two SECW program because the SECW isn't the Big Ten. There are four incredibly strong programs in the west that are bringing in so many super talented players as well as having great coaching staffs which I believe will make it next to impossible for Arkansas to compete at the top most years. But they will compete for a division title once in a while.
