Two of my fellow Alabama fans believe that Lee Roy Jordan was a better linebacker than Derrick Thomas? Give me the reasons why, please.

here's a whole other mess of problems

they weren't playing a similar linebacker role and they weren't even really playing the same game as Lee Roy was on a one platoon football team

I don't necessarily think he was the better linebacker. Derrick Thomas could do things that Lee Roy Jordan just couldn't do athletically. Completely different eras of college football. However, for his time (according to historians - I don't have personal recollection since I'm not that old), Lee Roy Jordan was as dominant.

I honestly think it goes 1. Thomas 2. Bennett 3. Jordan. Alabama has a ridiculous number of great LBs in its history.
