I know this isn't going to be a particularly popular sentiment, but I think it's kind of nice. The guy is getting emotional over what would be, for any of us nattering fans, one of the biggest moments in life. Nothing bad there. How would you react if you'd spent most of your life training and preparing for the highest possible level of your chosen profession and you made it? I mean, seriously, the guy just learned he was going to play in the N-fricking-FL.

Nobody is criticizing the emotion or crying. Hell I don't even mind the embracing and the first kiss. But when you start broadcasting the guy smearing cake on his boyfriend's face and then repeatedly kissing him, it's overkill.

And if it had been a guy doing it with his girlfriend, this thread would never have happened because nobody would care enough to call it overkill.

I dunno. I don't get why it upsets some people so much. Maybe it's just the Southerner in me saying that gay people never did anything to me (which is more than I can say about some straight people I've known), so I see no reason to get riled up at them. Who cares if some gay football player gets all affectionate with his boyfriend? It's no different form some straight football player getting all affectionate with his girlfriend, and it impacts my -- and your life -- not a whit.
