You're not very bright are you? IT is the one market that is thriving and will probably thrive for a long time to come. If he's good, he'll never be in need of a job. Hell, even if he's not good, he'll never be in need of a job. I'd know, I'm an IT recruiter.

It is an excellent field to be in if your are an electrical engineer or highly talented programmer...most in IT work at help desks and make $12 an hour or so.

There are lots of markets and fields thriving, I am a nurse and while I openly love my job I am recruited monthly for other positions and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one nor am I supremely talented.
