Ray Mears also recruited him to play basketball at UT,too. He did not want to play in Bowden Wyatt's Wing-T.If you'll note after Wyatt was fired and Jim MacDonald's interim period was up, Tennessee hired Doug Dickey who scrapped the Wing-T.
