You are to be commended for toeing the company line as well as you do. However at a certain point it has to be up to a 40 year old Assistant Coach and/or Recruiting Coordinator to say the following-

"Nick, you are an important recruit to us here at South Carolina. The visit you scheduled is on a weekend when Coach Spurrier is not in town. He would like to meet with you, can you visit the next weekend?"

It really isn't brain surgery. As much as USC fans like to pick on Richt, I have yet to hear of an instance when a recruit had to hunt him down when on visit; regardless of circumstances or prior engagements. One may exist, but not many.

Also from the AJC:

quote:

Q: Which school would you have considered more if they had offered earlier?

A: “Definitely Georgia. They offered me on signing day last year (during my junior year). I felt like if they had offered me earlier, it could’ve been different. It would’ve been a way harder decision. Georgia and Alabama were two of my favorite schools going into the process. And I just felt like Georgia was offering out-of-state kids before the in-state kids

Guess who that was? It happens at a lot of places, apparently....

It was Bryson Allen-Williams, and I'm sorry he feels that way.

The only LB we offered before the in-state kids was Rashaan Evans. Again, not unreasonable.

Another funny tidbit from BAW's story:
quote:

“It was Coach (Steve) Spurrier, and I think it was before I committed. You know, they have a safety on their team named Brison Williams, and my name is Bryson Allen-Williams. When we were talking, Coach Spurrier told me that he needed some DBs. I looked at my mom, and I was like ‘I don’t think I play DB.’ He called back a couple of days later and said ‘Aw, my bad. I had you mistaken you for Brison Williams.’ So I thought that was pretty funny.”

The one thing we can all agree on is the AJC is hot garbage that only gets hits by misleading titles and pissing off fan bases. Having said that,

This has nothing to do with SOS's staff not having the presence of mind to schedule a visit when he's there.
